Intertek’s Technical Inspection Services business has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team based at Bridge of Don, Aberdeen and with regular travel within the UK and Globally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The key aspects of this busy and demanding role are to achieve sales growth targets in conjunction with colleagues and to promote Intertek’s Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification (ATIC) proposition to existing and potential customers of our Intertek Inspection Services business.

The key tasks include:

  • Achieve sales growth targets in conjunction with colleagues
  • Promote our ATIC offering to existing and potential customers in the UK and globally as required
  • Develop the client business plans for the teams alongside the Regional Director and Operations Managers, including new sales targets and then monitoring and reporting performance against the plan
  • Build and maintain relationships with client decision makers and influencers and respond to client enquiries
  • Preparation of quotations and management of the contract process
  • Marketing the breadth of Intertek’s products and services to existing & potential clients and ensure the appropriate Intertek technical expertise is introduced in the business development process
  • You will be expected to attend networking and industry events
  • Deliver high standards of customer relations and service, seeking continuous improvement in a drive for excellence and be a positive company representative to customers
  • Actively seek opportunities to upsell to customers in new products and services, total value chain, assurance, new geographies, new customers, new segments and new channels

ABOUT YOU

Required skills and experience

The minimum requirements for this role are:

  • You must have a proven track record within the Oil & Gas Industry, and a thorough understanding of the nature of the industry on a global level.
  • You will have at least 5 years’ experience of working within the Oil & Gas service sector and you must be able to demonstrate strong sales and BD background. A technical inspection background is preferred.
  • You will also have excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues at all levels and a customer focused outlook.
  • We will support you to develop your familiarity with Intertek’s services across the two business lines.
