Regulatory interface in Nigeria

DESCRIPTION

  • In consultation with the Project Services Manager, Project Manager: address needs and servicing of Government Departments such as DPR, NCD etc. all as required to maintain schedule in accordance with Government Directive. In conjunction with the Project Management Team, conceive strategies to address, manage and respond to Government issues and requirements in relation to Project deliverables.
  • Schedule, Monitor and participate in Project and Company correspondence related to Government. Advise PMT of interface issues and schedule maintenance update.
  • Prepare and maintain a comprehensive log of all incoming & outgoing correspondences relating to the JV operations. This should include follow up with partners on issues not limited to budget performance, daily & weekly reports, contracting, concurrence, etc.
  • Monitor and participate in development of Project tender processes as relate to interface with Government Departments.
  • Maintain and challenge inputs to tendering and contracting processes to assure their validity, integrity and practicality
  • Produce a weekly report of activity highlights, inclusive of ongoing activities, correspondence and tenders journal, digressions and matters of concern.
  • Provide guidance for the Project Manager in matters relating to interface with Government Departments.
  • Consistently championing the interest of the project with external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience supporting Project Management Teams at the most senior level in matters relating to Government interface, adroit in handling relationship affairs, preparing or advising on correspondence with Government Departments
  • Ability to craft high quality correspondence, be highly organised, pro-active and methodical.
  • Mature, principled and professional approach, able to debate and advice at most senior levels
  • Maintain a high level of professional awareness with regards to compliance requirements
  • Undertakes any other relevant duties as directed by Manager Project Services in area of regulation
  • Readily available to respond to incidents beyond normal working hours and be able to handle face-to-face confrontational situations
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with internal and external contacts including local authorities in Imo States, host communities and contractors
  • Ensure project meet the statutory responsibilities detailed in Regulatory and regulatory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University Degree in Science or social science
  • Minimum of 10 years in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry within a division of the NNPC or working with an Operators in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of the NNPC, NCDMB, DPR , State Land an Planning Authority and related Government Parastatals.
  • Broad contacts base in the industry, multi-discipline knowledge of how projects are put together and executed in the Nigerian environment, strong appreciation of how Operator to Government relationships work in the current Nigerian Oil and Gas sector. Good Commercial awareness
  • Experience in ability to negotiate and effectively resolve conflict
  • Strong interpersonal relations skills
  • Ability to make presentation and write report
  • Proficient in MSWord/Excel/PowerPoint
