We are looking for a Gas Network Modeller to join our Engineering and Asset Management team with Gas Transmission (GT). This role will be based out of our Warwick office.

As our Gas Network Modeller you will:

  • Use simulation software packages and supporting IT systems to manage GTs assets
  • Develop long term plans to support a range of complex designs, studies and business cases
  • Analyse GT network assets current and future requirements, supporting the justification around investment requirements
  • Youll champion the delivery of project outcomes across the project timeline.

We are looking for a someone who is:

  • Task focused: has a structured approach, someone who can understand processes and can extract key information from systems and people.
  • Self-motivated: is organised and able to work independently as well as being a team player enabling you to work effectively on your own team and the wider GT team.
  • Adaptable: Youll be able to make informed decisions around the findings and report your findings to both internal and external stakeholders at various levels to ensure customers services arent comprised.
About you

You will be the go to person for all things risk around assets/networks, so we are looking for someone who has a HNC level qualification within a relevant STEM field e.g. engineering, mathematics, science, etc. Youll have a keen interest in energy sector and gas transmission, a proven background within asset and transmission modelling would be beneficial but isnt essential. We can show you the ropes!

Youll be joining a small but dynamic team so having the ambition within this customer focused environment is key!

About the role in more detail

  • Youll develop forward looking plans complex designs, studies, to ensure network capability to customers is not compromised and including preparation of suitable business need cases to support scheme funding to deliver business objectives and targets.
  • Considers the interaction of multiple or complex systems to develop business proposals and solutions.
  • Knowledge of the general and information systems to enable appropriate system/asset design.
  • Technical knowledge relating to National Grids assets with knowledge, experience and understanding of National Grid
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations to small audiences
  • Modelling gas flows and pressures on the network across a range of scenarios to ensure that design options meet relevant statutory, industry and regulatory requirements whilst optimising costs and value created over the RIIO period.
  • Directs internal and external resources to support delivery of plans and achieve successful outcomes
  • Lead the safe and efficient high level design and scoping of NTS physical extensions and modifications to meet all stakeholder requirements
  • Carry out the development complex designs, studies, to deliver business objectives and targets.
  • Develop analytical skills in order to increase ability to work independently.
Qualifications

Essential:Degree level education preferred in engineering, scientific, numerical or commercial field preferred although relevant experience, aptitude and/or training/qualifications will be considered

Desirable:Member of an Institution leading to Technician level status

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £ 35,200 - £ 44,699 dependent on capability

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
